About the DASKC

The De Anza Shotokan Karate Club is one of the longest standing clubs in De Anza College’s Inter-Club Council, established in the 1980’s to help enrich the karate program in the college’s course catalog. We serve as a student-run body that augments the classes by offering belt exams (accredited through the WTKO), extra-curricular training opportunities, holding training, competition, and social events, and maintaining relationships with other Shotokan, karate, and martial-arts communities both locally and globally. Probably the most important aspect of what we do is that we do not do all this just for ourselves, but for the benefit of all karate students at De Anza College, whether they’re members or not, and, when possible, the local martial-arts community in general.
